History of Bonifest

The idea for Bonifest began many years ago in 1984 around a dining room table. Four parishoners were sharing a meal and their discussion led them to the idea of a parish picnic. From these humble beginnings, Bonifest has become the traditional start to summer in Edwardsvills, IL, on the campus of St. Boniface.

Over the years, Bonifest has changed and grown. What began as a parish picnic grew to include games, carnival rides, a variety of food venues, bingo, live music, a raffle, and a 5K Run for Bonifest.

This year Bonifest celebrates its 27th anniversary with the addition of many new fun events while retaining old favorites. Bonifest brings you lots of great music, great food, and tons of fun, to include the Run for Bonifest! The Main Stage will showcase popular bands including Phins and Paint the Earth. Traditional food favorites including bratwurst, pork steaks, fish, hamburgers, and funnel cakes will return along with a variety of games and Bonafun!
